manure for your mind

today, the ecreferral group decided to refocus our marketing efforts on mastermind. but we could not think of a more common word. brainstorming. sparking your creativity. manure for your mind. to highlight our strength, which is to focus the groupthink on a business problem. and btw, the current focus is how do we market our group :) more later....

I don't understand the problem. Mastermind is a solid and good word - remember Napoleon Hill? In think and grow rich he created a mastermind group with his friends to create the images and active visualizations necessary for each member to be held as if they had already achieved their goals. Implementation and accountability went hand in hand. They had no other agenda. We could go that route. Right now though, EC is not really pursuing masterminding this way - our support is more for specific issues, or an overall viewing of the member's business questions with openness above and beyond other groups. But we could do it differently. Peter and I agree that 12 active members give and take is a good number.
I like mastermind - let people ask if they don't understand. We just have to create what it is that we want to evolve from our already wonderful relationships and meetings.
All else will come from that, I believe.

When it comes to conversing on the internet, the question is whether to Facebook or Blog or both. We can spread ourselves thin as we try and comment on both. I would like to use one of them to continue the good conversations that we have at the meetings. Can get pretty interesting. Which one is best for gaining web traffic and interest and possibly new members?

I agree with Henriette, keep Mastermind, think we went through this discussion once or twice before.

The idea of "fertilize your mind" (or a derivative there of) as a marketing hook is not to replace the word "Mastermind" or to mislead. The discussion was about effectively gaining interest and growth for the group. Any marketing push takes effort, the question then becomes how to get prospects to notice and read on in any marketing piece (it's marketing 101), so that the efforts of the members are put to best use.

FYI, I'm not familiar with Napoleon Hill but it seems like his hook would be "Think and grow Rich" not "Mastermind".
